The Arrival!

We arrive at Miracle Springs around 1:30 or 2:00.  Happy to be out of the cars once again.  We checked in, Lyndsy assigned us the pods and then we began unloading the cars.  The Gertson’s found a wagon which made the it easier and a little more fun getting camp set up.

The small pods with beds, were occupied by Goss’s, Cutler’s and Hintze’s.  Gertsons and Neal and I stayed in the big pod.  We had some mighty fine air mattresses and wonderful nice sleeping bags that we hauled up to keep us warm and cozy.  The accommodations were actually very nice.

After we had unloaded everything, Lyndsy pulled out the crafts she had ready for the kids to make.  They made panda masks and fans in honor of Derek because he was in China and couldn’t be with us.  Lynda Ann also brought up hot dog / marsh mellow roasting sticks to decorate.  If you will notice, Mindy is working on hers.

The finished projects.

We waited as long as we could for Maren, Greg, Boston and Neal to arrive so we could have dinner but decided we would have to go ahead without them.  Jaden was not able to join us because he had football tryouts this week.  We haven’t heard if he made the team but we are all hoping and wishing him the best of luck!

The last group was going to leave Salt Lake at 2:00 p.m. but didn’t get away until 4:00 p.m.  Good thing we started dinner without them.  Lynda Ann took the lead and got the coals and fire going so we could start cooking our tinfoil dinners.  They consisted of chicken, carrots, pineapple, peppers and your choice of a sauce.  They turned out delicious!

Below is the picture of the Chinese dessert that Lyndsy made.  It was deep fried rice paper with cream cheese and powdered sugar in the center.  They were cream cheese won tons and Ryan nicknamed them cream cheese blob tons!  They didn’t look particularly appetizing but they were delicious!

The Cutlers and Neal arrived just as we were finishing up.  I made one for each of them hoping they would get there while everything was still warm.
