Thursday morning dawned early as each family began the final preparations to leave for Miracle Hot Springs in Idaho. Neal had some papers he had to finish correcting and Maren had to get her home ready to show so Maren brought Taylor and Brock to our home at 6:45 a.m. so they could drive up with the early party. You can see by the picture they are happy to be leaving even at 7:00 a.m.
We drove the Lyndsy’s where we did some repacking of both cars and headed to the 2600 South exit in Bountiful to meet Lynda Ann, Mallory, Abby, Hayley and Andrew. Hintzes text that they would be delayed a couple hours. Emmi had her student body camp for the week and Jeff G. had a chance to work some desperately needed overtime. We were sorry to be missing a couple of the Gertson’s and all of the Tucker Maxfield family.
We left Bountiful at 9:00 o’clock sharp. Our first stop was some place in Idaho (I don’t think it actually had a name) where we did a pump and dump and had a bonus of being able to pet and feed a donkey and a llama. Quite an experience. If you read the sign above Andrew’s head you will see what I mean by ‘no name’.
Our next stop was in (I think) Buhl, Idaho where we had lunch. It was a pizza joint – and a joint it was – called Pizza Planet. However, the pizza was good and no one got sick! That is always a bonus.
Now this next picture is a classic. Hayley probably won’t forgive me if she sees it now but a few years down the road she will get a kick out of it and forgive her Gam for including it in the family history. Hayley and Andrew were fussing over some straws (believe it or not). Andrew had a bunch and was not willing to share them. Hayley took her case before her mother, but to no avail. So in a moment of frustration, Hayley spouted out with, “I’m sick of this. I always share with Andrew and he doesn’t share with me. I’M JUST SICK OF THIS.” She then stomped down to the end of the table to sit by herself and make her point! I have to say as soon as the food came she was right back with the group and in the end with a bit of a bribe from Lynda, Andrew did share those incredibly precious straws! Hayley, I do love you and love your ability to speak up!
