Tuesday, Trinkets and Treasures and SunMaid

These are two places that I love to go visit every time we are in Kingsburg.  I love going to little specialty shops.  It always seems that you can find fun and unique things to buy.  Of course the raisin place is fun because of the variety of candy they have there.  Emmi had not been to either place so it was fun to take her.  While Jamie, Peyton, Emmi and I were shopping, Tucker was showing Neal his fancy bike and letting him ride it.

We got home in time to load out bags in the car, say our goodbyes and thank yous and head to the airport for our flight home.  We had an amazing trip and a GREAT time.  Jamie and Tucker know how to host visitors to their home.  We loved every minute of our time there and will look forward to the next visit.  Thanks Tucker and Jamie for carting us all over the place, feeding us and putting up with us invading your home and space.

Congratulations Peyton on your baptism.  Stay true to the gospel and listen always to the promptings of the Holy Ghost.  He will never lead you astray!

These are some pictures that I took of the sunset on the way to the airport.  My camera didn’t do it justice.  It was breath taking.

Tucker drove us to the San Jose airport which is three hours away from his home.  He had a long turn around trip after he dropped us off.  We stopped in Gilmore at the outlets and went into Jelly Belly and bought tons of candy for Neal’s classes and some for my work.  Love the name belly flops!  From there, we went to In and Out Burger and got take out to eat on the way to the airport.  Tucker dropped us off at 7:30 and then headed home.  Thank you Tucker for driving that long distance.  We arrived in Salt Lake at midnight and were met by 5 degree weather.  Burrrr  I don’t think the car ever got completely warmed up before we got home.  It was nice to climb into our bed with fun memories of a wonderful trip!

This game seems to be the rage of the season this year.  Can’t remember what it is called but we all had fun trying to work it.  Tucker got pretty good at it.

Sunday, December 28th

This was the day that we had come to California to be a part of.  Peyton’s baptism.  We left for church at 11:30.  Immediately after Sacrament Meeting we went outside to have some pictures taken and then back in for the baptismal services.  Neal and Emmi were asked to speak and both did an excellent job.  Peyton looked darling and seemed excited about the whole event.  Her daddy baptized her and confirmed her a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.  Tucker gave her a beautiful blessing.  I hope it was recorded.  This was the program that Jamie made.

It was a perfect day for a perfect little girl.  We were so happy to be there to support her and be a part of this very special day for Peyton Jean Maxfield.  When we got home we changed and enjoyed the rest of a quiet Sunday.  We had roast and salmon for dinner and then watched Jurassic Park.  I think there was a lot of dozing going on during that movie!

Saturday, December 27th

I forgot to mention that we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Emmi took some great pictures but I didn’t take any except this oneThere was also a line miles long of cars waiting to drive across the bridge.  No matter where we went we waited in lines!

Saturday morning was a project morning.  I don’t think it was meant to be, it just happened.  Jamie had purchased a new bunny pen for the two rabbits and getting them from one hutch to the other called for clever measures.  Jamie nicknamed Emmi the Bunny Whisperer.  Emmi was able to get one bunny into the new home but the second one was a bigger challenge.  It took her and Lexi and took Lexi climbing inside the cage to force the bunny into a bag that Emmi was holding.  They were able to capture the rabbit and transfer her to her new home.  Then Neal and Tucker had to clean the bunny droppings and take the old cage apart.  Tucker found three black window spiders that he squished!  If you notice the picture of Tucker, he has rolled up toilet paper up his nose and a scarf to put over his mouth and nose.  He was gagging the whole time they were shoveling crap!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing with football games, table games, watching movies and Jamie, Emmi and I going to Costco to get a roast for Sunday dinner and goodies to serve after Peytons baptism.  I will add here that poor Jordyn Lyn was really sick with a touch of the flu.  She pretty much stayed down the whole day.
