Our first night!

It is always amazing to me what little boys can find to entertain themselves.  It proves to me over and over again that we really don’t need to fill our homes with all kinds of electronics to entertain children.  Left to their own imaginations and their own resources they can come up with all kinds of fun stuff to do.  Here are a couple of examples.  Andrew grabbed one of the tables and put up just one side creating a long ramp to run his little skate board down.  They must have played with this simple but creative idea for most of the afternoon.  In fact, Andrew got a little frustrated because it seemed every time they would leave it for a minute we would either put the table away (thinking they were done) or set it completely up so we could use it.

Besides climbing every tree in the complex, throwing Frisbees and playing chase games they found these huge plastic chess and checker pieces inside this cement type cellar and pulled them out setting up the chess set numerous times and then later using the checkers for a ball and the chess pieces for the bowling pins and bowling with them!  I can’t begin to tell you how many times these items were pulled out and put away, pulled back out and put away.  You have to love the creativity of little boys!  Later Andrew found some boxes and put them on their feet and used them as shoes.  That went on for a good long time.

That evening we had a small fire and roasted marsh mellows and had S’mores.

A nice way to bring the day to a close, sitting around the camp fire!
