Neal decided to surprise me with invited friends over to our home for a dinner and games. I got home from work and walked into a "Surprise"! It was very fun. He invited Joseph and Ashley Hurst and Mindy and Ken Leatham. Neal did a Dutch oven dinner of barbequed pork ribs and potatoes. He also had a tossed green salad and corn on the cob. For dessert we had apple pie and ice cream. Delicious dinner. He had the patio table all set with table cloth and all the matching dishes. The weather was perfect for eating outside and there was a gentle breeze which kept most of the bees and flies away. After dinner we came into the house and played Five Crowns and Shanghi. Happy to say that I won Shanghi! We played games until about 11:30 and then I happily and exhaustedly fell into bed and slept soundly until 5 a.m. to go walking.
Neal certainly surprised me and did a great job with the dinner. Made the ending of my birthday day perfect. This is Joseph and Neal getting dinner out of the Dutch Oven.
Great party. Great friends. Great fun! Great 77th birthday celebration!
