Celebrating Birthdays and Christmas

Last night Ron and Judy came over to our home to celebrate Neal’s birthday on December 1st and Judy’s birthday on December 2nd and to exchange Christmas presents.  They always leave for California  in the middle of December and because December gets so busy we have to celebrate and exchange all at the same time.  Our chances of getting together again before they leave will be nearly impossible.  We had a delicious dinner of soup, salad, bread and a chocolate cake for dessert.  We played bridge, of course, and exchanged presents.  Judy and Ron gave Neal and I a present that is probably the most beautiful, spiritual and meaningful present I’ve ever been given.  The picture I’m going to post won’t possible do justice to the gift but when you are at our home you will need to study it from all sides.  Of course I cried.  We also took a picture of the present that we gave Judy.  It was an incredible evening and one that will be long remembered.  What great friends they are.  We love them!  If you study the picture you will see an elderly lady with a cane waiting to pass from this earth through the veil.  As she passes through the veil Christ is reaching for her and you notice she is young again.  Absolutely reminds us of the plan of salvation and how important our temple covenants are.

This is the counted cross stitch I did for Judy and Ron.  It is the 12 days of Christmas by Jim Shore.  The figurine goes with the cross stitch.  Finding that figurine did some serious hunting.  It was a wonderful evening full of tears, love and eternal friendship.
