Neal and I got up fairly early, cleaned up and headed out the door to try and catch all the kids at home before they departed from their homes to do their Christmas visits. We have had the longest fall going into winter I can remember. So when we got up this morning, it was actually snowing just a little. Just enough to cover the grass but nothing sticking to the roads (which was a nice little blessing for us – traveling to all the kids home.)
Our first stop was at Maren and Gregs. The kids were excited to show us what they got for Christmas and to tell us that their main present was a cruise for the whole family the end of June. Maren got some special Crossfit shoes for lifting. They looked pretty awesome. I forgot to take a picture of them. From all we could see the Cutler’s had a very nice Christmas.
Our next stop was to Jeff and Mindy’s. Mindy had text us earlier telling us that they had taken Jeff to Insta Care to have his finger checked. It was horribly swollen and infected. Insta Care was close so they will wait until tomorrow. It took us a few u-turns and detours to get to their house but we finally made it.
From there we headed to Lyndsy and James home. I had not seen their new home so was anxious to get a tour of the home and see what they got for Christmas. Their house is almost all turquois and red. The front room is bright turquois walls with red curtains and red shelves. It’s a small home in Sugarhouse area with a huge back yard with a play house in one of the trees.
From their we headed out to Jeff and Annie’s for a turkey dinner. Annie hadn’t slept for four nights from working so while she was sleeping Jeff, Emmi, Abby, Neal and I played Shanghi until she woke up. We had a delicious dinner and then headed home to get ready to leave for California in the morning. The first picture a toy that Andrew got from Santa.
This next picture is one of the kids in their home made bathrobes and Emmi and Andrew with their new quilts.
This last picture pretty much tops off all the Christmas gifts ever given because it comes as such a complete surprise and a very well kept secret! Jeff, yes Jeff, bought the family a new puppy. He left Christmas morning, picked up the puppy and brought it back. At first Annie thought it was a stuff animal. Because Jeff would never buy another dog. The puppy is solid black with just a little whiite hair on his chest. As for a name? It was still a family discussion. I think it had been kind of narrowed down to Charlie. Not sure that is the settled name. Andrew is holding out for Moose but that name isn’t flying with the rest of the Gertsons.
From our observation, it looked like everyone had a very Merry Christmas, full of fun and surprises. It was fun to see all of you and spend a little bit of time in your home. We love you all! Mom and Dad / Gam and Pa.
