You had eternity to prepare for your mission.
And you'll have eternity to reflect on it.
But you only have 18 months to live it!
Missionaries have a hard job. They suffer constant rejection, exhaustion, and sadness. They have been given a wonderful opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others, but it is not always easy.
"It was meant to be that life would be a challenge. To suffer some anxiety, some depression, even some failure is normal. If you have a good, miserable day once in a while - or several in a row - stand steady and face them. Things will straighten out. There is great purpose in our struggle in life."
