A Trip to San Diego–Day 1

Saturday morning found Lynda Ann, Emmi and me all headed to the airport at 6:00 a.m.  I got there a few minutes before they arrived and while waiting ran into Jessica Garrett.  Jessica was leaving that morning for a wedding in California.  It was fun to visit with her for a few minutes.  Annie and Emmi arrived and we headed to security and then to our assigned gate.  We flew Southwest from SLC to Phoenix we had an hour layover.  We realized when we got off the plane in Phoenix that our next flight was located at the other end of the airport!  We had decided not to check luggage so we had a long way to haul bags.  Just as we started our walk a sky cap came by in his motor cart and asked us if we wanted a ride, so we hoped on board and road the long distance, grateful that we didn’t have to haul our luggage all that way.  We thanked him, tipped him, and smiled as he dropped us off right at our gate.

We arrived in San Diego safe and sound, found the Fox Car Rental Shuttle, got set up with our car and our real adventure began.  After we checked into our condo, we decided to head over to Coronado and see the sights.  It was a fun afternoon spent walking the beach for about 3 plus miles.  We also checked out the shops in the hotel and found – no less- a Tommy Bahama store.  We took a picture and sent it to Neal.

It was a fun day and by the time we got back to our condo we were all exhausted.  Emmi and Lynda Ann from not sleeping more than 2 hours the night before and me from worrying about Neal.  We fell into bed about 8:00 and were all immediately sound asleep!
