For many reasons, I decided to have our Christmas Eve dinner on Saturday the 23rd instead of Sunday the 24th. There seemed to be too many complications for Sunday and Saturday just seemed to fit everyone's schedule. In the morning I began the usual preparations of getting the table set up and decorated and preparing the food. Neal, in the mean time had just finished carving and painting a s scout neckerchief slide for one of his scouts. He was busy clean up and apparently didn't have the carving knives all completed covered. As he put his hand in the box to put something away, he sliced his little finger! It bled a lot and we finally decided that it probably needed to have a couple stitches. He went to the emergency room and the doctor actually put in four stitches. Here is the picture Neal sent me.
I should also post a couple pictures of the carving that he completed.
You can see he did a beautiful job - as usual. He put tissue paper around it and put it in a small box, had me wrap it and then gave it to the mom to put in the boys stocking.
