This Monday is Martin Luther King Day and we have it off and I'm excited for an extra paid day!
Friday began the long weekend by leaving work at 3:30 to pick up Neal at the Front Runner. From there we headed to the movie theater to see Concussion. It was a great movie along with popcorn and a drink. After the movie we were hungry for something sweet so we stopped at the ice cream stand and Neal went crazy. We both got the giggles because he just went ballistic! He not only bought three scoops of different flavors of ice cream but also bought a box of some special cookies. They are very different and actually delicious. I think the bill came to $30.00!! Yes, just for ice cream and cookies! It was a very fun evening and a nice way to begin a long holiday weekend.
Saturday morning found us getting up at our leisure and doing some much needed projects like changing some light bulbs in the stairwell, the master bedroom and the bathroom. We ran to the container store and bought special hangers for his suit pants and some storage buckets. Neal spent some time organizing some of his clothes that are seasonal, folded and put them in the containers to be stored on the top shelf of the closet. I encouraged him to not be afraid to throw things away that he hadn't worn for a couple years. I think he threw two white shirts and 4 hats was all. At least it was a beginning! Saturday was a lazy afternoon of watching football games, reading, doing the wash and stitching. Neal was working on taxes, school and watching the football games. I love those kind of Saturdays! I'll be writing more as the weekend progresses.
