I’m not going to go into details, but a brief explanation. Neal’s marketing class has been working with Payson City to give them ideas on how they can make their little city known. Because of the interaction with the Payson Mayor, Neal found out about Payson Salmon Day. Apparently this event has been going on for 59 years! Never heard of it. So Neal decided to set up a golf game at the Payson Gladstan golf course and then from there we would go to the big salmon dinner. He invited Ron and Judy and part of my birthday celebration.
Tucker, this picture is for you. Your dad’s golf ball it the flag and dropped about 2” from the hold. He was that close to an eagle!!
After the golfing 18 we headed down into town for the Salmon Dinner and these are the pictures from that event. They fed over 5,000 (yes 5,000)! When we got there the line went along two city blocks. We stood in line for an hour and a half. We played bridge and talked with people around us. It was worth the wait as you can tell by the picture of the plate of food we ended up with. I think they gave everyone a 1/2 a salmon! Neal said the tickets were $15.00 each and well worth the money and the wait. As we were leaving we noticed that the line now extended around three city blocks and growing. I tried to capture a picture of all the people but it really doesn’t tell the story very well.
When we got home, we sat out on the patio and visited before going downstairs to play bridge. It was a great day spent with our best friends.
When we got home there was a package on the porch. A birthday present from Tucker and Jamie and the girls. They gave me this darling Life Is Good t-shirt. I LOVE it! And I do believe that LIFE IS GOOD!!! Yes, I will admit that we have many detours as we traverse through this mortal existence but on the whole – life is good!
