China–Day 3

Saturday Derek had planned to have us go to the Chinese Gardens, museums and to see a large Buddha statue.  It ended up being quite an adventure.  We enjoyed walking around the gardens, being caught in the tourist traps of buying trinkets and just enjoying the ambiance of the country.  When I walked into the front room of Derek’s apartment, this was what I saw.  Taylor asleep on the couch and Jaden on the cot.  Lyndsy slept on the blow up mattress and Tucker on the other end of the couch.  Maren and Greg had their own room and Neal and I had the master bedroom.  Derek didn’t even stay in the apartment with us, he slept over at the circus dorms.  Thanks Derek for sacrificing your apartment for your family.

Now, for the pictures of the gardens.

I couldn’t believe how many times we were stopped so that the Chinese girls could have their pictures taken with Derek.  He was such a flirt with all of them and they ate it up!
