Ron and Judy invited us to Scofield over the Labor Day Weekend. We also found out that Jaden had a game Saturday evening. Ron and Judy were good enough to drive us over the mountain pass from Scofield and down into Ephram. It took about an hour and a half. The football game wasn't much of a game as Snow College won 40 to 0! Jaden scored a touchdown toward the end of the game which was very exciting. Fun to watch your grandson play on a junior college team. We are proud of you Jaden. It was fun to drive past the coal mine and see the long shoot that runs for miles and carries coal down to be loaded on the train cars.
This picture below shows how long and huge this conveyor belt is. It is amazing. I made some comment about it looking like the great wall of China!
This picture shows the huge pile of coal ready to be loaded.
Maren had seats saved for us on the 50 yard line. Here you can see Jaden in his #13 uniform.
This is Maren, Taylor, Brock and Boston sitting in the wheelchair section, right in front of us.
This was right after the game and all of us listening to Jaden talk about his touchdown and catching the ball. He was very, very excited, as he should have been.
Brock and Mr. Boston and Taylor also caught up in the story telling and the excitement of the moment. I love Brock's look of admiration.
Obvious picture of very proud grandparents with the football hero.
It was fun to be there. Our ride back to Scofield was eventful as we ran into herd after herd of dear grazing on both sides of the road up through the canyon. One couldn't drive too carefully. Never seen so many deer. But we made it back safely.
