Memorial Day

I always think that this kind of a holiday will be a quiet, relaxed day that I can stitch, read and watch a good movie or two, but somehow that scenario rarely happens and this day was no exception.  Neal and I have decided to have two more cupboard doors cut out and glass put in which meant that dishes had to be rearranged.  All of the drinking glasses were moved to a different cupboard and two spice and miscellaneous cupboards combined into one.  I discovered that I often had two and three of the same spice and all were opened.  I checked dates, combined spices into one container and threw old stuff away.  Amazing how much room is created when doing some serious cleaning!  I should have taken pictures of before and after.  The first picture is how our cupboard will display when the glass is in the doors.  the second cupboard is the nicely and alphabetically arranged spices.  And the third cupboard is where the spices use to overflow into!  Neal arranged the dishes and the glasses.

It took us the better part of the morning to get the three cupboards emptied, cleaned and put back together.  We decided to reward ourselves with a hamburger so we ran to Wendy’s for lunch.  When we got back, Maren, Greg, Taylor, Brock and Boston along with Lyndsy and River came over to swim for the last time.  Our pool closes on the eve of Memorial Day.  We had a fun afternoon visiting and watching the kids swim.  Lyndsy invited us over to her house for dinner that evening.  We had hamburgers and then played Shanghi.  I captured another picture of Neal sleeping!  Tucker, you should have quite a collection by now!  The pictures are Taylor on Maren’s shoulders, Boston on Taylors shoulders and Greg throwing Boston in the air.
