Hawaii Trip - Day 1

 Lynda Ann, Mallory and I left for Hawaii this morning.  We arrived at the SLC Airport at 10:00 a.m. and boarded our plane for Oakland, California on the way to Hawaii.  One of our have to's was to get Emmi a Jimmy John sandwich.  Which we discovered was at the opposite end of the airport from our loading gate.  But Annie hustled down and got the sandwich for Emmi and caught up with us.  Emmi can't buy Jimmy John's in Hawaii and she loves them!

The leg room is much better if you are willing to sit by the emergency door.  Of course, we had to snap a picture!

We arrived in Oakland on time and grabbed a subway for lunch and then boarded our plane for Hawaii.  The plane was 45 minutes late taking off because of some passenger in the back.  But whatever the problem was, it was settled and we were finally in the air.

As we were walking through the airport a bird flew right over us and landed on the sign above us.  The whole airport is open so apparently there are birds flying through there all the time.

Emmi greeted us with traditional Hawaiian leis.  they were gorgeous and smelled wonderful!

We stopped at the Ala Moana Mall for a quick bite to eat and then off to an evening cruise to see the fireworks.

The girls caught me laughing at something Annie did.  Something to do with her glasses.  Totally cracked me up as you can see.

Emmi drove us safely back to her apartment where we have all settled down for long winter's nap!  (So to speak)
