Sunday–a day of rest? I felt like I was feeding the 5,000!

The day began fairly early with breakfast and everyone getting ready for Sunday meetings.  I had to speak at a ward conference at 10:30 and from there needed to hustle over to Lyndsy and James ward where they were speaking.  I got to their ward just a very few minutes after Lyndsy started her talk.  She spoke on Love of God and James spoke on Love of Country.  They both did an excellent job and I was proud of both of them.  Tucker got sick during the meeting and had to leave.  When Sacrament meeting was over, we found him lying in the car.  He looked very pale and miserable.  We came home, changed and got tables set up for dinner.  The family started arriving about 4:00.  We sat down for dinner at 5:30 to grilled teriyaki chicken, salads, fruits and veggies.  The kids sat around the table and visited for a couple of hours.  That is my favorite time with the family when all the adults are engaged in talking and laughing and reminiscing.

One funny thing that happened.  Greg was sitting at the kids tables to take care of Boston and he had quite an interesting conversation with Hayley.  Apparently Hayley was not happy with anyone, but Tucker, calling her Jeffrina.  She was adamant that everyone should call her Hayley and not use Tucker’s special nickname for her.  Greg told her that maybe she should think about making an announcement to the family and Hayley’s response was, “Oh Greg, I don’t think I’m comfortable with that.”  When Greg told us later, we laughed and laughed.  Cute Hayley.  One never knows what she is going to come up or say next.

It is amazing how often the grandchildren gather around the books that Lyndsy has made of our reunions, trips and even the wedding photo album.  They will be life long treasures for the family.  Thanks Lyndsy for doing that.

Lyndsy is in charge of the family reunion for next summer so she after dinner she stood on a chair and proceeded to try and explain what we are doing next year.  The main part of the reunion will be spent at Miracle Hot Springs Camp Ground in Buhl, Idaho.  Lyndsy has detailed almost every day and the events.  She figures the whole reunion will only be about $250.00 per family.  Good job Lyndsy.  She is showing a video clip that she put together.  I hope she saves it because it was very creative.

When the families were ready to go home and as the adults were gathering up their kids, Greg happened to look at Boston’s feet.  The kids had been running outside most of the afternoon without shoes on and the pictures below show the results.

Maren was the only one who couldn’t come.  She had to work.  We were glad the Greg came anyway and we didn’t torture him with table games.  He did a great job of taking care of the kids without the help of Maren.

I don’t think there was one problem the whole time the cousins were together.  I love how they all play so well and love each other.  Taylor, Lexi, Jordyn Lyn and Abby spent most of the time downstairs making up dances, while Andrew, Brock and River spent hours gathering snails and putting them in the toy trucks and then hucking the nasty things over the fence.  The older cousins visited and I think Jaden and Emmi threw the football back and forth a few times. Hintze’s didn’t stay too long after dinner as Grayson was sick so they had to leave a little early.

We have great grandchildren and I love them all!
