The Lucky Stiff

Lynda Ann invited Neal and I to go see The Lucky Stiff at the West Valley Performing Arts Center.  Such a funny story and has a great ending.  Dave (our hair dresser) played the part of the dead person.  His whole performance was almost all in a wheel chair sitting motionless.  He was amazing and very funny.  Jeff, Annie, JC and Jenny along with Neal and I went to the play.  Love every minute of it.  We did stop at Red Robin for dinner before the play.  Very fun evening.  Thanks Annie, for including us.

David is the second row, third from the right.

Little Eye Surgery

I've had a little growth on my eye for the past year and finally went to a specialist to see if they could remove it.  The doctor said he was pretty sure it was benign but they will send it for a biopsy just to make sure.  The whole procedure only took about 20 minutes and was absolutely painless.  Even the shots to numb my eye didn't hurt.  Actually it hurts more now that it is all over than it did when they did the procedure.  The doctor did tell me that I would probably have a black eye.  I'll for sure post that if it happens.  The nice thing that happened is when they saw my birthday they couldn't believe that I was as old as my birthday says.  That was flattering and certainly made me feel good.

Another Stitching Project Underway

It has been almost a year since I've done any counted Cross stitching.  For some reason just haven't wanted to pick up the needle and thread.  I must have needed a little break from it.  But during General Conference I decided to pick it up again.  This is my new project.

Mallory has a set of these and when we saw the Olympics pattern it there was no question that she would get this one.

Not sure who found this picture.  Either Mallory or Lynda Ann.  I'm to sure I've ever seen it but it is a great picture of the three of us.

Easter Gathering

We had our annual family Easter dinner and egg contest again this year.  We ended up with 22 people, which is more than the usual amount.  Mindy, Robert, Maddie, Grayson and our new great grandchild, Logan were here.

Jeff, Lynda Ann, Mallory, Andrew, Hayley and Alex were here representing the Gertson family.
Tucker and Maren, Greg, Taylor and Jayden came.  Boston was in Richfield with some friends and Brock is still away at college.  Lyndsy and Sunshine.

We had a delicious dinner that all the girls contributed to which made it very easy for me.  Then we had our egg contest.

It came down to Jeffrey and Hayley.  Jeffrey still had both ends of his egg not broken and Hayley had one end not broken.  There was hope that Jeffrey would finally get his name on the famous family Easter Egg trophy.  I think everyone was kind of secretly hoping he would win.

And the winner for the 2026 egg contest is:

I guess Jeffrey will have to wait yet another year.

We even had Logan participate.

Just for family history.  Tucker gave me the BYU necklace.  Yup Tucker actually got on line and found them and ordered them for me.  Now that is true son to mother love!!!  Thanks Tucker, I love them!!

The Fabulous Three

Last week the three of us realized that we had all bought the same shirt at Costco.  So we decided to wear them when we played bridge this week and see if Yvonne noticed.  It took her a little bit of time before she focused in on the fact that we all had the same shirt on.  We had a good laugh about it and had Yvonne take a picture of the three of us.

Left to right:  Kerma Jones, me, Judy Stanfield.

Hale Centre Theatre

Neal and I had the opportunity to go to the Hale Centre Theatre and see the Hunchback of Notre Dame.  It was the Disney stage production and I have to admit, it was amazing.  We had excellent seats and enjoyed the evening out.

Spring's Carpet

I came out of the temple last Tuesday and just happened to have my phone with me (which I never take in the temple).  I noticed the gorgeous Spring carpet of pansies and daffodils and tulips and just had to stop and take a couple pictures.  How can anyone deny that there is a God in Heaven who has provided all this beauty for us.  The changing seasons are amazing and every season has a beauty all its own.  I do love the awakening of Spring.

I couldn't help but stop and say a prayer of "thank you".  And notice the little purple pansies touched with yellow gold.  I love that little primary song.  I love the gospel and my Savior Jesus Christ who created all this beauty for me to enjoy!
