Every Tuesday morning for the past 15 months I have been an ordinance worker for the Jordan River Temple. I get up at 3:15 and head out at 3:50. My assignments vary every two months. They keep us busy through the whole 5 hour shift. I leave the temple at 10:00 a.m. and head home. On the cold mornings I usually stop at Beans & Brews and get me and Neal a hot chocolate. Love their hot chocolate.
There is good that comes from being committed to be a temple ordinance worker. Every ordinance that I participate in reminds me of the promises that I have and also the promise that I have made with my Father In Heaven. I always, always feel at peace when I leave the temple. I love that Mallory arranges temple attendance and she and I go (or try to) at least once a month. We've visited lots of the temples in the valley. And what a special treat to be in the temple with Annie, Mallory, and Emmi when we were in Hawaii visiting Emmi. A blessing to give a short two hours from a week of events to the Lord.
This last week, Mallory arranged for Annie and I, along with Mallory, to go to the Draper Temple. It is such a special time to be in the temple with my daughter and granddaughter. Annie had her biological great grandmother's name and I had a couple family names as well. Nice to feel their spirit and know that we are helping them move forward in their endowment. After, we stopped and got a bite to eat and then we all headed home. I cherish those mornings and love the feelings and memories those times create.
