Two traditions: Egg Hunt and Egg Contest

It is interesting as the grandchildren grow older they transition from hunting the eggs to hiding them for the younger ones.  Again this year one more grandchild dropped out from the hunting and moved into the hiding.  Oldest to youngest annual prior to Easter egg hunt picture!  We had to do two lines this year as our cameras couldn’t get everyone in.  It is always fun to watch them (especially the little ones) figure out where their place in line is.

The end results.  I always chuckle when I go back in the house after the hunt and there in the middle of the floor are all the plastic eggs, opened, emptied of the prized candy and left discarded!

Next comes the Easter egg contest – Taylor won this year.  However, there was some comment about her using finger nail polish on her egg.  So, now I guess finger nail polish has been outlawed.  The rules get longer and longer and the contest more fun each year as the competition rises with the grandchildren as well as the adults.  I failed to get a picture of Taylor with her winning egg.  I’m hoping someone else captured a picture and will send it to me.

It was a very fun day.  Cutlers left along with Hintze’s and the rest of the family stayed and played games until about 9:45.  Lyndsy brought a new game that I can’t think of the name of, but it was very fun and we played it for a couple of hours.

Thanks to all the family who participated and made this such a fun and memorable day!  I have to add here that Tucker texted last night and asked if we were doing the egg contest on Sunday.  I told him that we had already done it and that Taylor won.  He said, “I miss not participating in that contest soooooooo much.  We may have to come next year for it.”  Wouldn’t that be fabulous to have the Tucker Maxfield family here for Easter.  Let’s hope it works out that they can come because we miss them greatly.
