This year Lyndsy arranged for the family to meet at Sugar House Park for lunch, visiting and playing. This is Lyndsy’s responsibility every year to set the date and pick the park we will meet at. Because of general conference weekend and Jaden’s football game we met at 2:00. We only had three families there; Cutlers, Gertsons and Lyndsy and River minus James (he had to work). Jeff and Mindy’s family were in St. George taking care of her parents who needed help after surgery.
Lyndsy assigned everyone to bring their own lunch and then something that we could share with other family members. Lynda Ann and Maren brought desserts. Maren brought miniature cupcakes left over from Taylor’s birthday celebration and Lynda Ann brought some kind of cereal and marshmallows covered in dark chocolate.
The weather could not have been better. We spread blankets and we all sat or laid in the warm sun and visited for nearly two hours. The kids ran around exploring the playground and the river and climbing trees. It was a very fun get together. Thanks Lyndsy for yet another GREAT family outing.
After we left the park, Lynda Ann had a quilt that she wanted to get done for Mallory for her birthday this Friday but we also wanted to go to a movie while the men were at Priesthood. Annie, Emmi, Mallory and I went to see Taken 2. Talk about suspense. Just my kind of movie. Abby was good enough to stay back and watch Andrew and Hayley. When we got home, Annie made some delicious potato soup while I went downstairs and put the quilt on. When the men came home we had dinner, quilted a little bit and then played and game. After the Gertsons left I decided to go work on the quilt for a little while. I ended up staying up until 1:30 and finishing it. Nice to have it done so Annie can bind the edges and have it ready to give to Mallory for her birthday.
